Aaron Magowan, born and still living in Belfast has since early childhood always been a keen drawer and would seize every given opportunity to get possession of pencil and paper to draw. This has been a cathartic compulsion throughout his life, progressing from pencil and paper through to poster paints, while at primary school, to watercolours then acrylic paints and now oil paints.

Aaron has come to love the medium of oil paints for its versatility of application and vibrancy of colour and has, since completing his bachelors’ degree at the University of Ulster 2017, been deeply involved in further experimentation with the possibilities that his chosen medium presents and the outcomes that might be achieved.

Having always felt compelled to create art, Aaron has long since come to the conclusion that this feeling will always be the case and that it is also the case that the creation of art is his predominant purpose in life. although he has come to establish his professional approach later in life, he believes that he finds himself in just the right place at just the right time.

Aaron has married some of the resulting techniques from his many experimental exercises and developed a style that, despite some earlier advice to render exactly what he sees, allows him to not only to relay how he sees a given subject but also lends an atmospheric depth of feeling connected with his work.
